Overview
Injectable hyaluronic acid is a type of temporary dermal filler, lasting approximately 6 to 18 months. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally throughout the body, and in the skin it attracts water, which allows the dermis to become more hydrated. Hyaluronic acid is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, facial folds, and to create structure, framework, and add volume to areas of the face (such as the lips, jawline, cheeckbones, nasolabial folds, undereye, among other areas).
Anesthesia
Topical anesthesia is used.
