Botox

Overview

Botulinum toxin therapy (known commonly by its brand name, Botox) consists of applying the toxin in strategic places to produce relaxation in the desired facial muscles, thus diminishing expression lines and wrinkles formed by facial movement. It is used mainly in the forehead, the eyebrows and around the eyes to obtain a more youthful appearance. The treatement lasts between 3-5 months depending upon the patient.

Anesthesia

Topical anesthesia is used.

Procedure Time

The procedure takes place over an average period of 30 minutes.

Post-treatment Care

This is an outpatient procedure. Avoid strenuous activity or exercise for 1 day following treatment.
